Swimming in the Area - Fundy Pational Park

.....or just walking on the ocean floor

There are a number of places where you can swim - in the Bay or in warmer waters.

  • Alma Beach: Although shallow when the tide is out, you can swim here when the tide is in. (great for exploring at low tide!)

  • Herring Cove: In the Park, this is a wonderful picnic area and the temperature of the water is not too bad as the summer progresses. (take a stroll, do some rock scrambling)

  • Waterside Beach: Ten minutes out of Alma on the 915 is the widerness beach of Waterside. Great for strolling or for a dip when the tide is in.

  • Point Wolfe Bridge: Just off the parking lot - again when the tide is in.

  • Salt Water Swimming Pool: You can swim in salt water and have it heated too. The salt water swimming pool in Fundy National Park takes water from the Bay and heats it up for your comfort.

  • Bennet Lake: Warmer fresh water on the beach at Bennet Lake.

  • Laverty Falls & Third Fault Falls: Beneath the waterfall at the end of the Laverty Falls hiking trail and the Third Vault Falls hiking trail

  • Upper Salmon River: There are a number of deep pools in which to swim
